The latest ShadowControl release extends the centralized console across a broader set of protection and verification capabilities.

Unified Agent-Based and Host-Based Protection Visibility

Onboard Microsoft Hyper-V hosts through the same ShadowControl endpoint agent already used for agent-based protection. Once installed, the host appears under Endpoints, and every guest VM on it is automatically organized into a Host → VM view that updates as VMs are added or removed. Host-based protection requires Arcserve ShadowProtect SPX 8.0.

Centralized Advanced Verification

Arcserve ImageManager Advanced Verification pass/fail status, triggers, and history now appear directly inside ShadowControl for Agent-Based deployments, so administrators can confirm backups will actually restore without switching tools.

Modern Authentication for Email Notifications

ShadowControl now supports OAuth2 authentication for Gmail and Microsoft 365 email alerts, helping keep notifications delivering reliably as Microsoft continues retiring Basic Authentication for SMTP.
