Arcserve Cloud Cyber Resilient Storage: Immutable Backups to Defeat Ransomware
Setting Up Arcserve Cloud Cyber Resilient Storage
Start by Purchasing Storage Capacity
Activate Your Account
Use the activation email to access the Arcserve Cloud Storage portal and securely obtain your account keys. Next, log in to the Arcserve UDP Console, where you’ll create your Arcserve Cloud Storage account with these keys.
Create Your Cloud Cyber Resilient Datastore
Explore the intuitive process for setting up datastores:
-
Navigate to the Recovery Point Server (RPS) page within the UDP Console.
-
Click "Add Arcserve Cloud Cyber Resilient Datastore" to begin the setup.
-
Choose a cloud region from nine global options, ensuring optimal performance and compliance for your data.
Customizable Retention & Immutable Snapshots
Retention Policies:
Arcserve allows you to choose the retention policy that aligns with regulatory requirements:
-
Governance Mode: Offers protection suitable for general data compliance.
-
Compliance Mode: Provides stricter controls for industries subject to legal mandates.
Snapshot Scheduling:
Schedule periodic immutable datastore snapshots tailored to your organization:
-
Daily snapshots (retain for up to seven days).
-
Weekly snapshots (retain for up to four weeks).
With every snapshot, the datastore creates an index of objects, locking them as immutable for the duration of your specified retention policy. All configurations are handled seamlessly within Arcserve’s UDP console—no third-party services or manual interventions required.
Simplified Restoration Process
Restoring Immutable Data:
Arcserve makes restoration effortless:
-
View available immutable snapshots within the datastore.
-
Import snapshots as read-only datastores for restoration purposes.
-
Use Arcserve’s standard recovery options, including:
› File and Folder Restore
› Bare Metal Recovery (BMR)
› Recover to VM
Not only are your backups stored immutably in the cloud, but you also retain Arcserve’s storage optimization benefits like deduplication and compression.
