Arcserve Appoints Finance and IT Leaders to Accelerate Growth as Demand for Ransomware Recovery Rises

Bijoy Verghese joins as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Nick Kokologiannakis joins as Vice President, Information Technology, bringing track records of scaling global technology companies as Arcserve grows with customers and channel partners facing AI-driven ransomware.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., October 21, 2026 - Arcserve®, the pioneer in unified data resilience, today announced two leadership appointments to accelerate its growth. Bijoy Verghese joins as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Nick Kokologiannakis joins as Vice President, Information Technology. Both leaders have helped global technology companies grow, and they join as Arcserve scales ransomware protection and recovery for small enterprise and mid-size organizations and the channel partners that serve them.

The appointments follow a year of growth driven by customer demand for more innovative ways to protect data from ransomware. In 2026, Arcserve delivered Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP) 11, Arcserve Cyber Resilient Storage 2.0, Arcserve ShadowProtect™ 8.0, and, most recently, Arcserve Ransomware Protection and Recovery Suites. Each release helps small and mid-size organizations and their channel services partners more quickly recover clean data after a ransomware attack.

AI-Driven Ransomware Is Fueling Demand Across Small and Mid-Size Organizations

AI-driven ransomware now reaches small and mid-size organizations faster, more persistently, and with more serious damage, and that pressure is driving demand for better data protection. AI has lowered the cost and the skill required to run a successful ransomware attack. Year over year, 53% more organizations were hit by ransomware extortion¹, and more than 90% of breached organizations employ fewer than 1,000 people².

Many organizations feel more confident about recovery than their test results support. According to the Arcserve 2026 State of Data Resilience report, 65.1% of organizations are confident they can recover from ransomware within 48 hours. Only 35.4% met their recovery point and recovery time objectives in their most recent full recovery test. More than half of respondents (52.3%) have already experienced a ransomware event, yet fewer than half (49.2%) have deployed immutable backup storage³.

Channel partners see the pressure firsthand. Roughly half of Arcserve partners discuss ransomware with customers weekly, and about a quarter discuss it daily⁴.

"Small and mid-size organizations now face AI-driven ransomware with a fraction of the staff and budget that large enterprises have," said Chris Babel, CEO at Arcserve. "They need more innovative ways to protect their data, and over the past year, Arcserve has delivered immutable storage, AI-driven anomaly detection, automated disaster recovery testing, and expert incident response to help them recover. Customers and partners have responded, and our business is growing. Bijoy and Nick have each helped technology companies scale, and they bring the financial and technology leadership to accelerate that growth with customers and partners."

Bijoy Verghese, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Verghese also spent more than a decade in senior finance leadership roles at Warner Bros. Discovery.

"Arcserve is growing because it delivers the products and partner programs that small and mid-size organizations depend on for ransomware recovery," said Verghese. "I look forward to building the financial foundation that accelerates that growth and keeps innovation flowing to customers and channel partners."
