Arcserve Japan Begins Offering the Latest Versions of Its Data Resilience Solutions

Arcserve UDP 11 and Arcserve Cyber Resilient Storage 2 expand support for virtualization infrastructure, enabling even more robust data protection in diverse environments.  

TOKYO, Japan — July 29, 2026 — Arcserve Japan, the pioneer in unified data resilience solutions, will begin offering the latest versions of its data resilience solutions, Arcserve® Unified Data Protection (UDP) 11 and Arcserve® Cyber Resilient Storage 2, featuring a range of functional enhancements focused primarily on expanded support for virtualization infrastructure, starting August 17, 2026. With these latest releases, Arcserve Japan delivers robust data protection across customers' diverse virtual environments.

Arcserve Japan partner community and invited end customers will see the new releases in a special launch event on Monday, July 29 in Tokyo.  Special speakers include Arcserve CEO, Chris Babel, Arcserve Chief Product and Technology Officer, Michael Lin, Arcserve Japan Presales Director, Imai Toshihiro, and Arcserve Japan Director, Partners and Channel - Sales, Yohei Kokubo. 

Arcserve UDP 11: Overview of the Latest Version

Arcserve UDP is an integrated data protection software solution that provides comprehensive support for data retention, backup, and recovery.

Main New Features and Enhancements

  • Agentless Backup of Proxmox VE Virtual Machines: With the latest version of Arcserve UDP 11, in addition to the existing VMware ESXi/vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Nutanix AHV, support for Proxmox Virtual Environment (Proxmox VE) has been added to the Arcserve UDP console, enabling Proxmox virtual machines to be protected directly from the console.

  • Enhancements to Assured Security1: Assured Security now includes an incremental scan feature, allowing it to scan only files that have been changed or added since the last scan. In addition, backup data on ReFS2 volumes is now supported as a scan target.

  • Cloud Cyber Resilient Storage West Japan Region Added: In addition to the existing East Japan region, a West Japan region has been added. This enables customers in West Japan to keep immutable backups geographically closer. In addition, customers in East Japan can use the West Japan region as a data recovery site to guard against large-scale disasters. 

New Proxmox Platform Support

Proxmox is an open-source enterprise virtualization platform that integrates a KVM hypervisor, Linux containers (LXC), software-defined storage, and advanced networking capabilities into a single solution. With its addition to Arcserve UDP console support, Proxmox virtual machine environments now offer centralized visibility and control via a web-based interface, simplifying backup management and enhancing disaster recovery operations.

Agentless Virtual Machine Backup

This is a method of performing backups using the management functions and APIs provided by the virtualization infrastructure, without installing dedicated software (agents) on each virtual machine, efficiently protecting multiple virtual machines while reducing operational overhead.

Arcserve UDP 11 now supports the following additional platforms: 

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.8, 10.1, 10.2 

  • Oracle Enterprise Linux 9.8, 10.1, 10.2 - RHCK and UEK 

  • Rocky Linux 9.8, 10.1, 10.2 

  • Alma Linux 9.8, 10.1, 10.2 

  • Debian 12.12-12.14, 13.1-13.4 

  • SUSE 16 

  • Ubuntu 24.04 - 6.17.x kernels

Overview of the Latest Version of Arcserve Cyber Resilient Storage 2

Arcserve Cyber Resilient Storage is a dedicated immutable storage solution designed to protect data from cyberattacks within the integrated data protection solution, Arcserve UDP. The Arcserve Cyber Resilient Storage series is available in three types to suit customer environments and requirements:  

  1. Cyber Resilient Storage (on-premises version)

  2. Cyber Resilient Storage Appliance

  3. Cloud Cyber Resilient Storage.  

The Arcserve Cyber Resilient Storage 2 introduced in this release is the on-premises version. 

Main New Features and Enhancements

  • Virtual Cyber Resilient Storage: Arcserve Cyber Resilient Storage can now be deployed as a virtual machine on hypervisors (such as VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Proxmox). This removes deployment barriers caused by hardware delivery delays and shortens the deployment cycle.

  • UEFI3 Secure Boot: Arcserve Cyber Resilient Storage 2 now enforces validation across the entire boot chain4 (Shim → GRUB2 → Kernel → OpenZFS module). This directly addresses stringent information security requirements.

  • Active-standby NIC5 bonding: Multiple network interfaces provide critical fault tolerance against NIC and switch-level failures, ensuring robust communication with the Arcserve UDP recovery point server even in the event of network hardware failure.

  • Improved Observability (Enhanced Administrator UX): The new Login Health Banner instantly displays time synchronization, ZFS pool6 health, disk SMART7 status, and login failure audit information the moment an administrator logs in. This significantly reduces the Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) for critical system alerts. 

Cyber Resilient Storage 2 Availability

Cyber Resilient Storage 2 will be available from the product download page starting August 17, 2026.

1. Assured Security Scan: A feature that recognizes backup data (recovery points) as a virtual disk and scans it for malware using Microsoft Defender. 
2. ReFS (Resilient File System): A file system for Windows that specializes in fault tolerance and large-capacity data processing. 
3. UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface): A firmware specification that operates first after a computer is powered on, initializing the hardware and starting the OS.
