Arcserve Introduces AI-Powered Cyber Resilience Capabilities for Mid-Market and SMB Ransomware Protection
Enhanced AI Detection Provides Proactive Threat Mitigation and Operational Efficiency for Growing Businesses
EDEN PRAIRIE, MN – September 24, 2025 – Arcserve, the pioneer in unified data resilience solutions, today announced a private preview of new AI-driven cyber resilience capabilities designed for mid-market and SMB IT leaders to protect their organization against ransomware attacks. Seamlessly integrated into the Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP) platform, the AI-driven features fit into existing backup workflows, providing proactive threat mitigation, operational efficiency, and future-ready security.
A private preview for existing Arcserve UDP customers will be held on October 9. Interested IT leaders can register for the event now to see these AI-powered capabilities in advance of their release.
“Mid-market and SMB IT teams need earlier detection of potential malware or ransomware indicators within their environment to protect them from ransomware attacks. Backup integrity with scale and speed is critical during a ransomware recovery – no one wants to recover with compromised data. The new Arcserve UDP AI capabilities will help customers understand what backups they can use to recover with AI doing the work of scanning for indicators of errors, highlighting potential issues, and giving IT leaders more confidence in data recoveries,” said Michael Lin, Executive Vice-President, Product and Technology, Arcserve.
The new Arcserve AI capabilities include
- AI-Driven Anomaly Detection: Automatically highlights existing backup recovery points exhibiting unusual patterns in file activity, such as bulk deletions and bulk renaming. Alerting teams to potential insider threats or stealth ransomware activity, AI helps customers have confidence that their backup data is being observed and protected.
- Encryption Recognition: Quickly identifies mass encryption attempts in existing backups, providing critical early-warning alerts. This additional source of threat detection enhances the existing malware detection infrastructure already in the UDP data resilience platform.
Arcserve customers benefit with AI acting as extra labor identifying potential issues with backup data before restores happen. The automated and AI-driven detection minimizes false positives, allowing IT teams to focus on genuine risks and improve incident response times and resource allocation. Designed to fit smoothly into existing workflows, the new Arcserve UDP AI features ensure that users do not need to set up any AI-based backup scans separately or spend time learning a new interface.
More information about new Arcserve AI-driven capabilities will be released in the October private preview session and with additional details coming in late 2025.
