Introducing Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP) 10
When I joined Arcserve a few months ago, I immediately saw the opportunity ahead of us. The confluence of our team, our technology, and our broad partner network allows us to deliver innovations for our customers’ most pressing data protection needs.
Today, we launch UDP 10 and reaffirm our commitment to protecting data across all environments, (whether on-premises, in the cloud, or in a hybrid infrastructure) in an intuitive, flexible and affordable way. At the same time, this release takes UDP to a new orbit with features that strengthen security, improve disaster recovery capabilities, and ensure data resiliency against ransomware.
Arcserve UDP 10: A Major Upgrade in Features and Benefits
One of the most exciting new features of Arcserve UDP 10 is Assured Security, which integrates malware scanning directly into the backup process. Powered by Microsoft Defender, Assured Security detects malware at time of backup or restoration, allowing customers to identify clean recovery points and recover them to a clean room or production environment. This built-in security feature provides an extra layer of protection, especially when dealing with ransomware.
This is important because ransomware attacks are happening left and right: in our State of Data Resilience 2024 survey of senior IT professionals, over 80 percent of respondents said their organization had been hit by ransomware.

- And so, it’s not just about doing your best to prevent it, it’s about having the right defenses in place to recover quickly when it happens
Arcserve UDP 10 was designed to help organizations recover quickly and effectively when disaster strikes.
Another key UDP 10 enhancement is Ad-Hoc Virtual Standby, which simplifies disaster recovery by enabling customers to spin up a virtual machine (VM) on-demand. With Ad-Hoc Virtual Standby, organizations can now quickly get back online without spending time on pre-configuration. It’s a game-changer for reducing downtime.
And the third capability that I’d like to highlight here is our One-to-Many Replication. This feature enables organizations to replicate data simultaneously to multiple targets in parallel, both to avoiding a single point of failure and to avoid waiting on target environments with a higher latency. That is particularly important for protecting data across distributed environments.
Addressing IT Challenges with Simplicity and Efficiency
Arcserve UDP 10 isn’t just about new features; it’s about simplifying data protection and making it more efficient for already-stretched IT teams. Many IT professionals are running from one ‘fire drill’ to the next, which leaves them with little time for proactive data protection.
Arcserve UDP offers centralized management through an enhanced Cloud Console that gives IT teams complete control over multi-site and multi-cloud environments—all from a single interface. UDP 10 extends its support for Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, and Wasabi so that customers can configure, manage, and recover data seamlessly from within the Arcserve interface. And that interface is intuitive and user-friendly, which reduces operational overhead and allows for better resource management.
