Accounting Manager

Job Summary: The Accounting Manager position is responsible for the maintenance and administration of the general accounting systems, including upkeep of the general ledger, consolidation of financial records, and submission of accurate and timely data for financial reporting purposes. This role will also be responsible for supervising a group of staff who perform accounting activities such as preparing and posting entries to general ledger, processing vendor payables, billing customers, preparing account reconciliations and performing month-end close responsibilities.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and accruals.
  • Managing staff to drive an accurate and efficient month-end close process and other required activities of the finance team.
  • Perform monthly review of sales transactions to ensure prior allocations are being performed between license and maintenance as part of the Company’s revenue recognition process.
  • Assist in month-end close processes when required.
  • Performs financial analysis as necessary and as requested, including special projects, requests for information from key business leaders, coordinating internal audits, etc.
  • Makes regular suggestions for improvements to accounting processes in order to operate more efficiently.
  • Works to standardize financial processes
  • Coordinate any training and development required within the accounting staff.
  • Delegate work appropriately in order to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field
  • Seven plus years of progressively responsible finance experience for a mid-sized to large company or a division of a large corporation
  • One plus years of management experience
  • Proficient with MS Office tools

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Experience working for a technology company with multi-national operations is a plus
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations
  • Experience working with NetSuite and EssBase
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
