Vice President Sales – North America

United States - Eden Prairie or Remote | Full-time

Job Summary: The Vice President Sales, North America (NA) is a key member of the Sales leadership team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Worldwide Sales. This position will responsible for leading the NA sales organization in the development and execution of the overall sales strategy for the region. Drive, expand and continuously improve sales capabilities in order to exceed our revenue goals by enabling and motivating our sales employees, channels and partners. This role requires an experienced and efficient leader with strong people skills and ability to drive growth and channel enablement throughout the region.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Define and executive the overall sales strategy for NA region
  • Build and manage effective partner sales/management teams with skills aligned to the Global Sales strategies and requirements
  • Design, develop and implement sales strategies, enablement plans, processes, procedures and KPIs.
  • Determine and select appropriate resources, provide appropriate guidance/direction and performance feedback (formal and informal), prioritize resources in order to provide exceptional support to partners
  • Provide strategic guidance, insight and knowledge about market trends, competitors and the effectiveness of the sales strategy
  • Foster continuous improvement; ensure that all sales activities are efficient, effective and scalable.
  • Create an environment based on aligned goals, process, accountability, integrity, respect and a sense of urgency
  • Provide strong leadership to the NA sales organization; coach, guide and inspire them to adapt and improve in order to meet and/or exceed goals and growth objectives
  • Identify, develop and maximize talent required to execute strategy
  • Use formal and informal methods to obtain regular assessments of Arcserve’s performance with partners to ensure products and programs are meeting or exceeding partner expectations
  • Apply experience, discipline and judgement to ensure mutually beneficial decisions are being made for partners, end-users, Arcserve and employees. Consult as appropriate with areas of expertise within the company to ensure decisions for the region are aligned with global and corporate goals, values and strategies
  • Manage escalated conflicts, read situations quickly, handle tough disagreements and settle disputes quickly, equitably and objectively –by finding common ground and obtaining cooperation with minimum disruption
  • Build effective working relationships internally with leaders of key departments including Finance, Development, HR, Operations, Support
  • Manage P&L and budgetary targets
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of assigned team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Ten plus years of experience building, developing and leading channel sales teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience to meet the essential functions of the position
  • Eight plus years of experience in a sales leadership role
  • Must have industry experience in the storage, security, or data protection market
  • Broad understanding of industry related channel and partner relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time or as required
