Business: The Laryngeal Mask Company (LMA™) designs, develops, markets and distributes medical devices. Its main product is a Laryngeal Mask Airway device, which is distributed throughout more than 100 countries worldwide and has been used safely more than 200 million times.

Challenge: To ensure customers receive medical devices on time, LMA needs to process orders and deliver products within short timelines. The company relies on its IT systems, particularly email, for these activities. It therefore needed a more robust disaster recovery plan.

Solution: LMA implemented a centralised data replication strategy using CA XOsoft™ High Availability. Around a terabyte of email and file data, including customer details and quality assurance information, is continuously replicated between multiple sites.
