Ditton Park 18 July 2011 – CA Technologies (NASDAQ:CA) has kicked off a recruitment drive to attract partners wishing to add CA Technologies new ARCserve D2D On Demand data protection solutions to their cloud-based IT management portfolio.
“This new cloud offering is part of CA Technologies strategy to help different sizes of business that need a simple, cost effective data protection solution that address the top three concerns of risk, cost and time when protecting their data on premise or in the cloud. CA Technologies use of Microsoft’s Windows Azure platform for this new solution extends a working relationship between the two companies that has been providing high-value innovation to customers for more than 20 years. The Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, that took place last week in the US, was the ideal gateway for partners to road-test the technology, register for an on demand trial, and ultimately join the world-class CA Technologies partner community.
CA Technologies announced an agreement with Microsoft in May 2011 to offer customers its industry-leading CA ARCserve data protection technology as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering using Microsoft’s Windows Azure cloud platform. The new cloud offering, scheduled for availability in the second half of this year, is part of CA Technologies strategy for bringing rapidly deployable, easy-to-own IT management solutions to market. This solution will be especially attractive in situations where conventional, internally deployed backup-and-restore systems and software implementation may be less financially or operationally appealing, such as small businesses or remote offices that lack the necessary on-site IT staff. The announcement also underscores the shared commitment of CA Technologies and Microsoft to the continued expansion of the cloud market.
